The “Closing Conference for the Assessment and Mitigation of Legal Uncertainties in the Digital Transformation of Joint-Stock Companies Project,” coordinated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Meltem Karatepe Kaya and supported under TÜBİTAK ARDEB-1001, was organized in cooperation with the Competition Authority, Istanbul Medeniyet University, and Social Sciences University of Ankara, on 21 April 2026, at the Competition Authority Conference Hall, with the participation of the President of the Authority, Mr. Birol KÜLE.

The conference began with opening remarks delivered by the Project Coordinator, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Meltem Karatepe Kaya, the Dean of Istanbul Medeniyet University Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Özcan Günergök, and Vice President of the Authority, Mr. Ferhat Topkaya.

During the morning session titled “Digitalization in Joint-Stock Companies: Corporate Perspectives”, contributions were made by Selçuk Yılmaz, Deputy Head of Department at the Competition Authority. In the afternoon session, project outputs were presented by the project team, which were subsequently discussed together with the academics who contributed to the evaluation session. Throughout the conference, recent effects of digitalization on commercial law as well as practical examples were discussed.

The closing speeches of the conference were delivered by Mr. Burhan Kayatürk, Chair of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (GNAT) EU Harmonization Commission, and Prof. Dr. Cüneyt Yüksel, Chair of the Justice Commission of the GNAT.
