Eskişehir Competition Summit (15.5.2026)

President of the Turkish Competition Authority, Birol KÜLE, attended the “Competition Law Eskişehir Summit,” which was organized in Eskişehir on May 13, 2026 in cooperation with Eskişehir Osmangazi University, and hosted by Anadolu University Faculty of Law. Bringing together representatives from academia and the public sector, the summit addressed the transformation of competition law in the context of digitalization, artificial intelligence and sustainability.

In his opening remarks, Mr. KÜLE pointed out the importance of competition law and fair competition in protecting consumer rights, noting that the main goal of the Competition Authority is to maintain balance in the market. In addition, he delivered recommendations and messages encouraging young people to be individuals who conduct research and generate ideas, and to develop effective solutions for the country’s future.

Vice-President of the Authority, Assoc. Prof. HAKAN BİLİR, participated in the summit as a moderator, while Department Heads from the Authority took part in the sessions as speakers. Head of the Economic Analysis and Research Department, İbrahim ŞAHİN, offered assessments on power concentration and competitive concerns in AI ecosystems, and Head of the External Relations and Competition Advocacy Department, Evrim Özgül KAZAK, addressed sustainability and the transformation of environmental markets from a competition law perspective. Furthermore, Head of the Supervision and Enforcement Department-VI, Dr. Ömür PAŞAOĞLU, made a presentation on the relationship between intellectual property and competition law.

Anadolu University Rector Yusuf ADIGÜZEL and Eskişehir Osmangazi University Rector Kamil ÇOLAK, who delivered the opening speeches at the summit, emphasized that competition law plays a strategic role in economic transformation. Anadolu University Faculty of Law Dean Mesut AYGÜN, on the other hand, drew attention to the fact that competition law increasingly intersects with artificial intelligence, environmental and sustainability policies.
