The Competition Board concluded the preliminary inquiries about the claims that

•  Vatan Bilgisayar Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş., Teknosa İç ve Dış Ticaret Anonim Şirketi and Media Markt Turkey Ticaret Limited Şirketi violated article 4 of the Act no 4054 on the Protection of Competition by exchanging information on competitively sensitive data

and

• Sunny Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş.  violated Article 4 of the Act no 4054 on the Protection of Competition by imposing a ban on internet sales to resellers and/or determining resale prices, and also by mediating the indirect information exchange between Vatan Bilgisayar Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş., Teknosa İç ve Dış Ticaret Anonim Şirketi and Media Markt Turkey Ticaret Limited Şirketi.

Having discussed the information and documents acquired and observations made in the preliminary inquiries in its meeting of 18.05.2022, the Competition Board concluded that the findings were significant and sufficient, and took the decision no 22-23/370-M and 22-23/371-M to initiate an investigation about Media Markt Turkey Ticaret Limited Şirketi, Teknosa İç ve Dış Tic. A.Ş., Vatan Bilgisayar San. ve Tic. and Sunny Elektronik San. ve Tic. in order to determine whether article 4 of the Act no 4054 was violated.

*Investigation decisions taken by the Competition Board are announced to the public after the decision is notified to the undertakings or associations of undertakings about which an investigation has been initiated. Those announcements are made within the framework of informing the public about the decisions of the Competition Board and cannot be interpreted to mean that the undertakings or associations of undertakings under investigation violated the Act no 4054, or they are or will be subject to penal sanctions under the Act.
