Investigation Launched on Undertakings Operating in the Nuclear Medicine Market (28.7.2026)

According to the Competition Board decision dated 30.04.2026 and numbered 26-16/481-M, an investigation has been launched on Medicheck Nükleer Ürünler San. ve Tic. AŞ, Referans Nükleer Tıp Sağlık Ltd. Şti., Fefa Nükleer Tıp Ticaret Ltd. Şti., Sintias Moleküler Sağlık Ürünleri San. ve Tic. AŞ, Sintias Nükleer Tıp Tic. Ltd. Şti., Nukleon Nükleer Teknoloji Araştırma San. ve Tic. Ltd. Şti., Bianco Sağlık Ürünleri Ticaret Pazarlama Ltd. Şti., Nukleus Sağlık Hizmetleri AŞ, MNT Sağlık Hizmetleri ve Tic. AŞ, GAMA Görüntüleme ve Tedavi Hizmetleri AŞ and Moltek Sağlık Hizmetleri Üretim ve Pazarlama AŞ, which are operating in the nuclear medicine market, to determine whether they violated article 4 of the Act No. 4054 on the Protection of Competition (the Act No. 4054) by means of bid rigging and/or engaging in concerted practices in their activities in the relevant market, especially in the tenders made by public hospitals.

Positron Emission Tomography and Computed Tomography (PET/CT) is an advanced nuclear medicine imaging modality that has a critical role in the diagnosis and follow-up of cancer. The services provided within this scope may include equipment installation, the supply of various radiopharmaceuticals, primarily 18F fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG), used for imaging and operational personnel.

The investigation aims to analyze the conduct of the undertakings operating in the relevant market, in particular, in PET/CT and FDG tenders made by public hospitals and the likely impact of this conduct on competition. Within this framework, the activities of the undertakings party to the investigation in the relevant market, especially bidding behavior and the competition conditions in tenders, will be evaluated under the scope of article 4 of the Act No. 4054.
