With the decision of the Competition Board dated 10.08.2023 and numbered 23-37/714-M, an investigation was opened to determine whether MAÇKOLİK, which is operating in the area of online sports content, violated article 4 of the Act no 4054 through advertisement sales and marketing contracts on the use of ad spaces on its mobile apps and websites signed with advertising agencies, and violated article 6 of the same Act by abusing its dominant position through discrimination in online display advertising and redirecting  services market.  As a result of the discussion of the file related to the said investigation on 20.02.2025, the Competition Board decided that

MAÇKOLİK violated Article 4 of the Act no 4054 by imposing customer restrictions to advertising agencies which are its buyers under the scope of advertisement and service sales contract and within this scope MAÇKOLİK shall be imposed 7.422.998,17 TL administrative fines,

Moreover, MAÇKOLİK violated Article 6 of the Act no 4054 by abusing its dominant position through discrimination against undertakings operating in the fixed odds betting sector in online display advertising and redirecting services market and within this scope MAÇKOLİK shall be imposed 5.567.248,63 TL administrative fines,

In addition, taking into account the structure of the market, the Competition Board shall impose an obligation that

- MAÇKOLİK will follow a transparent, nondiscriminatory advertisement policy towards undertakings which are located in ad spaces in MAÇKOLİK’s platforms and which are operating in online fixed odds betting market and arrange rotational displays, ensuring that those undertakings will not have a more favorable position compared to their competitors,

- MAÇKOLİK will follow a transparent, nondiscriminatory advertisement policy towards undertakings which are located in redirecting areas for sports betting and which are operating in fixed odds betting market in MAÇKOLİK’s platforms and in redirecting related to the said odds ratio, it will install a system to rank displays of undertakings which are operating in online fixed odds betting market rotationally, ensuring that no undertaking will be favored.
