Taking another important step within the scope of fostering cooperation with other competition authorities, the Competition Authority signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Malaysia Competition Commission (MyCC). (11.9.2024)

The aim of the said Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is to establish and strengthen cooperation for sharing the experience and knowledge obtained by the parties in order to contribute to the development of competition law policies and enforcement as well as competition culture of the parties.

 

The President of the Competition Authority Mr. Birol Küle and the Chief Executive Officer of the Malaysia Competition Commission Mr. Iskandar Bin Ismail signed the MoU in the headquarters of the Authority. The Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living of Malaysia Mr. Datuk Armizan Bin Mohd Ali, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of Türkiye Mr. Sazali Mustafa Kamal and representatives from the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living of Malaysia, Malaysia Competition Commission and Embassy of Malaysia and Deputy Chairman of the Competition Authority Mr. Ahmet Algan, Board Member Mr. Cengiz Çolak, Vice President Mr. Hakan Bilir and Head of External Relations and Competition Advocacy Department Ms. Evrim Özgül Kazak attended the meeting.

 

The President of the Competition Authority Mr. Birol Küle said in his speech during the signing ceremony for the MoU, “This Agreement is an important step not only for the Competition Authority but also for enhancing the economic cooperation between Türkiye and Malaysia. We are aiming to establish a strong and sustainable cooperation with joint projects in the area of competition.”

 

The Chief Executive Officer of the Malaysia Competition Commission Mr. Iskandar Bin Ismail said in his speech, “We believe that the cooperation between Malaysia Competition Commission and the Competition Authority in the area of competition will bring long-term and efficient results.”

 

The MoU signed between the Competition Authority and MyCC will provide new opportunities for both parties and form the basis of a long-term cooperation in the area of competition law and enforcement.
