The main duties of the Information Technologies Department are as follows:
- To monitor the developments in the area of information technologies and to make policy suggestions concerning information systems and information management to the Authority, to develop and implement procedures with the coordination of the relevant department and within the framework of the policies established.
- To provide and manage the informations systems required for the service departments to continue their activities in an efficient, productive and uninterrupted manner, to ensure that these systems are in an operational state and up-to-date.
- To use information technologies to suggest methods for efficient and productive work, document and information flow, to procure software to this end, to perform analysis, adaptation, training, support and similar functions necessary for the implementation and later update, development and continuous operation of the software procured.
- To ensure the efficient and productive sharing of online documents and information inside and outside the Authority, to assist the Authority management as well as other departments through reports and publications.
- In coordination with other departments, to prepare and submit for the Approval of the President the data management and statistics plans and programs including information such as which data will be procured from what sources with which frequency, which departments will perform data entries and how, which statistics and data reports will be produced with which frequency, and to whom will these reports be presented inside or outside the Authority via the Internet, intranet or other media.
- Within the framework of the institutional legislation, to create databases in accordance with the requests of the departments, to ensure that the data entries are done at the specified intervals, and to prepare data reports.
- To evaluate the requests from Authority departments for hardware and software and present them for the Approval of the President with a reasoned favorable or unfavorable opinion, to procure any approved hardware or software.
- To ensure that the hardware and software required for user and data protection are procured.
- To install software, operating systems and hardware, to do repairs and to meet other requests for assistance and support for users.
- To create the overall design for the Internet and intranet sites of the Authority as well as the subsequent development thereof, to ensure the necessary coordination for the update of the Internet and intranet sites as well as any other web-based information exchange resources in which an account is set up for the Authority.
- To ensure the installation, periodic control and maintenance as well as continued operation of the institutional network infrastructure.
- Within the scope of the relevant legislation, to provide the necessary software, hardware and standards in order to provide communication between the Authority and other authorities and institutions concerning information technologies, and to work to ensure that the standards in question are implemented.
- To provide user training on the use of the hardware, system and application software, information publishing panels of Internet and intranet sites; to submit opinions and suggestions to the relevant department in order to ensure the training of Authority or department personnel in the area of information technologies, in line with the goals specified.
- For activities inside or outside the Authority, to provide support to other departments concerning the subjects which fall under the department's purview.
- To monitor developments in areas related to information technologies such as e-state, electronic signature, electronic document management, forensic IT and to conduct the necessary studies to ensure their use in Authority practices.
- In coordination with the relevant departments, to represent the Authority in meetings directly concerning subjects related to information technologies such as e-state, electronic signature, electronic document management, forensic IT; to provide support to studies conducted by public institutions and organizations upon request; to gather and present any information, documents and opinions requested. To monitor developments in areas related to information technologies and conducting the necessary studies to ensure their use in Authority practices.
- To submit to the relevant departments any suggestions for amendments and observations related to the legislation concerning the department's jurisdiction, to make contributions to legislation studies conducted.
- To provide support to professional staff during on-the-spot inspections upon request.
- Through an early warning system within the framework of the Authority intranet, to provide assistance to the finalization of all transactions including time dependent transactions of the departments as well as to their coordinated execution.
- To work in coordination with the relevant departments in order to prepare annual or periodical printed and digital publications such as reports, journals and bulletins.
- In activities such as symposiums and conferences which will be published by the Authority, to work in coordination with the relevant departments concerning the acquisition of the voice recordings to be transcribed, provision of the visuals to be used in the publication and the monitoring of the activity program.
- To provide IT infrastructure to other departments on request.
- To make contributions to the publication policy of the Authority, to take initiative in this area in coordination with other departments.
